I am blessed beyond measure! I get to share this life with my best friend (Jeff…my hubby), my 5 amazing kids, my daughter-in-love, my future daughter-in-love and all the pups! I LOVE Jesus and hate religion. I am in constant need of GRACE and learning day by day how to pour that grace back out on others. My favorite hobby is “pondering” and asking questions of the Lord. My creative outlet is my home and because of that, it is constantly changing. I love things neat and orderly and I hate to cook and mess up my clean kitchen. I make my bed 360 days a year and I’m a super picky eater. I love dark chocolate and red wine and have them every night before bed. If you don’t care about the things I write, that’s ok just enjoy the pictures!

Oh my gosh, we would get along so well!! Love your comment about hating to mess up your clean kitchen…that is me! I would rather clean than cook and always make my bed! So glad that Stacey introduced you today and I plan to visit often! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Oh my goodness! I have been inside your house when it was under construction! When you painted it white, I wanted to ask you about it! I have spent so much time gawking at your white farmhouse, I was afraid you might call the cops on me! I pass your house everyday! I live at the end of Shady Grove behind the Presbyterian church in Deer Creek Shores! CountryHomeTours constantly sends me “farmhouse” tours and articles in my newsfeed on FB. Soooo excited to “meet” you and learn about your house that I love!!!!

Can I please come and live with you? ๐ The dogs are adorable!! I’ve had 3 at once but never 5. If I lived in a space that I could, I’d probably adopt wayyyyy too many….but…..can you have too many? They’re so precious!
I think we would be good friends ~ I would cook and you could clean! I love red too.

Good Morning Wendy ~
What a beautiful story ~
Your home is lovely and so are you.
You are right when you say God is good, you never know what is around the corner ~
My husband & I live in a condo right now, It’s beautiful, but something is missing. We are going to look at a house today – and I’m excited to start our new adventure.
I’m not sure what life has in store for us, but if we trust Him everything will be just wonderful.
Thank you for your inspiring words.
Much love,
Rose

Just discovered your blog and I’m so glad I did!!! I love your decorating style so much! We moved to the country (a short drive from Callaway Gardens, if you know where that is) almost a year ago and I’m slowly starting to decorate in a farmhouse/repurposed style. So much fun!!

We lived in Dacula for 15 years (until a year ago) and spent a lot of time on Lake Lanier in our boat. Hubby loves fishing there. I bet you’ve spent a lot of time at Queen of Hearts, huh?! I sure do miss that place!!

I just popped over from Buckets of Burlap to see what you did for the Repurpose Design Series and first thing I noticed was something I have been longing for, for some time now – a Daybed/Porch Swing combo! I don’t see this gem featured otherwise on your page … yet! Did you make that or have other pics of it you can post in the future? I live on an old farm that previous to me had sheep too. There are so many coyotes in my area I don’t dare tempt fate, though would love some as pets/mowers. So for now it is just my 5 horses and they would be fun to watch from a daybed swing while I nod off to count sheep! Thanks!

Hey Kari- my swing is actually from Ballard Designs. It is not an actual twin size bed …about the same depth but not as long… I can lay out fully on it but my hubs props his feet on the side rai – believe me, he naps there often๐l. My space wasn’t quite wide enough for a twin. Hope this helps๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป

Wendy, I just discovered your blog via Bloglovin and the Beautiful Farmhouse Home Tour. I truly love your home and I could feel the peace inside as I toured! I would love to know where I can purchase a sign like you have above your entertainment center (He is jealous for me). Our praise team used to sing this a lot and we substituted the words of “heaven meets earth with an unforeseen kiss” with “heaven meets earth with a sloppy wet kiss”! Fun! But seriously, this song always touches my heart and reminds me just how much my Savior loves me. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!

Hey Kay! I got the sign from House of Belonging. When John Mark McMillan wrote it , he used “sloppy wet kiss” but when David Crowder rereleased it, he changed it to “unforeseen kiss”.

I didn’t know this, thought sloppy wet kiss was a fluke from our minister of music. Thank you for the information for the sign. (I bought chipboard letters this weekend, can’t wait to make a few signs for our home). Love your blog and your home. Such an inspiration! Kay

Hi Jan-
We don’t use any particular study. We spend a lot of time asking questions of the Lord and reasoning through the answers. We focus a lot on unlearning things we have learned from man…preachers, books, parents, etc. and try to take off any lenses that we see scripture through so that we can get back to what HE is saying. Hope that helps!

I am so THRILLED I found your blog today through Rhoda from Southern Hospitality. First I looked all the pictures of your home and I thought to myself “OMG I would love a home like this” and then I read about you and your beautiful family and I thought “OMG I could so be friends with this family” You have beautiful taste and I love so many details in your home. I’m already thinking in my head oh I can do something similar here, here and here! My husband and I bought our first home a couple of years ago and decided to live with it the way it was to see how we use the space before deciding on any changes. We have started some projects and I am having the time of my life decorating and make things and painting furniture. I am crazy about Annie Sloan’s paints. I went crazy with excitement when I saw you painted your floor with her paint! I am having the hardest time convincing my husband to paint the wood floors in certain parts of the house but now seeing how gorgeous yours look, I am even more determined. I must show him your floors! GORGEOUS!!! Thank you for sharing your home with the world! Wishing you and your family continued blessings and happiness! Thank you!, Lourdes

We have a TON of windows and natural light and went with Sherwin Williams Casa Blanca. If you don’t have tons of windows, then go with Sherwin Williams Roman Column to get the same look. They are both a warm white but the Casa Blanca will look cream if it is not in direct sunlight. Hope that helps!
