Sunday Sheep Pondering – October 11, 2015

There are many symptoms of an illness. The symptoms…not feeling accepted, not feeling loved, self loathing, depression, insecurity, addiction, arrogance, judgement….fear! These are simply symptoms and not the source of the illness.
I believe this illness began in the garden, long before you or I became flesh. We were created for face to face relationship with God, our creator. He fashioned us and formed us in HIS image…we are NOT a mess up, a mistake, something that needed a makeover…we are “VERY GOOD”!!! You see, a beautiful sunset, a perfect rose, a family of dolphins dancing through the sea…He called all of them GOOD. But as for YOU, as for ME, as for ALL humanity…He said that we are VERY GOOD!

All was perfect, and then we turned away from face to face relationship. We turned to striving. We turned to others for the source of our identity. We turned from complete acceptance. We turned away from oneness with Him and believed that we were separated. That’s when the symptoms started to manifest.

We once looked directly into the face of unconditional love and we reflected that love back to Him. Now we look at the world for love and reflect back all the symptoms listed above.

My urging today, from the very depth of my being is simply this…TURN. Turn back to the face of unconditional love. He is there. He never left. He has always been there and always will be. There is no need to get things right before you turn back. There is no need to change before you turn back. There is no need to get all prettied up before you turn back. You see, when you turn back to the ONE who loves you and created you…it won’t be your reflection that you see…it will be His!!! You are created in HIS image, you are in Him and He is in you…Oneness! and you are VERY GOOD!
Romans 8:38-39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ.

  1. Thank you for this powerful post . I only pray that my daughter could see how much love God has for her. She is in a bad relationship right now, and she has lost all self worth. lord please help her look past all her pain and fear of being alone and see God in her future. God who loves her unconditionly all the time, not only when she is doing the right thing. Praise Jesus!!!

    1. Katherine-

You know sometimes the only way we realize the Love of God is to make mistakes and experience His perfect grace. It is so hard as a parent to watch but just rest in the truth that He loves her even more than you do!
