The Beautiful Journey to Here…

You will hear me say it over and over…GOD IS SO GOOD!

After a long 4 year process of trying to sell our previous home (on and off the market twice), the Lord blessed us with the perfect home for us.  We were looking for a home further out in the country, a ranch floor plan with a basement, not in a neighborhood, open concept, at least 4 bedrooms and of course it had to have that charm factor.  It is a very long story and I don’t want to overwhelm you with words but basically it comes down to the fact that HE IS SO GOOD and He knows what we need more than we do.  We ended up at the end of the 4 year process (which seemed like 40 years with 5 kids) being able to purchase a new construction foreclosure that had everything on our checklist and more!  This is going to sound insane …but remember how GOOD HE IS!  We ended up paying less than $75/sq ft!!!  It had hardwoods, granite, but needed some serious work. Over the last five years we have been putting our touch on this gift from our Father and I hope you enjoy seeing the transformation!

P.S. He also gave me sheep in my backyard (they are my favorite)…did I mention how GOOD HE IS?!

P.S.S. Did I mention that we previously had a contract on another house on our street that was smaller and much less charming.  We were contracted to pay more than double the price.  I know….GOD IS SO GOOD!

  1. I just told my honey last night that your home is my dream home. Granted I LOVE my home! But one day I want to change it all to that look and feel. (And I can’t wait to show him the pics of your ceiling. We want to put the beadboard on on our kitchen/dining area but he wants to find old stuff.) Great job Wendy!

    1. Hey Stacey! Thank you so much!!! As far as the lights go…I was fortunate enough to have a plug on both sides of my fireplace so that made it easier! I simple purchased some plug in lanterns from Homegoods and my husband lengthened the cord in them to reach the plugs. When we installed the old bar wood on the face I left a slight overhang to hide the cord that goes from the fixture to the plug. Hope that helps!!! 😘😘😘

  2. Hi Wendy! So excited for you in your new adventure. Even though I’ve had a website for years, I just added a blog to it…so I am very new to this as well. We, too, are looking for a new home and have “struck out” twice (two much to go into), but I can see how God protected us from decisions that would not be best for us in the long run. I am trusting the HE knows what is best for us as well. Thanks for the encouragement. I’m heading off to follow you via feedly. Blessings, Becky
